My idea was to transform my initial work keeping the meaning behind.
So I was questioning myself «would my idea remain the same if i change the colors to the opposite ones, or if I change the shapes, or if I even remove the color completely?». And, In my opinion, all the variations of the first picture actually worked well. While doing these «tests» I gained more ideas. For example, the thought of having no color, using white that was merging with the paper.
These forms have one thing in common: they are open and they invite the viewer to have a look inside, it feels like a specific space. I did all of them out of paper as it is the easiest material to manipulate with. It is very important that I was doing these sculptures using my hands not lifeless machinery.
I have made this sculpture transforming a drawing into in 3D shape. The drawing was about my feelings about my home, my country. I started experimenting using various materials and techniques.
I think my sculptures are meeting their purpose. Because I was thinking about a shelter, a place where person can feel safe, where he can hide from the problems, escape. That’s why, in my opinion, yellow color is very suitable, as it is a color of the sun, it makes you feel comfortable.
And these shapes are meant to attrect people, to make them come closer and experience them.
